• But misting fans also use Conduction. This is the process of a material, like water, absorbing heat. So, even if you don’t feel it, a misting fan will move water and lightly mist your skin, and this cool water will take some of the heat from you.

Misting fans still work with Convection as well, and in fact, when the water becomes warmer, having absorbed some of your body heat, the fan’s convection will move some of that absorbed heat away from the water, and at the same time deliver cooler water and air.

Where can I use a Misting Fan?

Although misting fans are similar to evaporative coolers, they provide a more direct and wet spray of water, where an evaporative fan is more about humidified water. 

As such, while evaporative coolers are fine to use indoors, misting fans are really for outdoor use, and may even cause damage to furniture, books, wallpaper and other stuff inside your house with long-term use.
