One thing we’ve learned here at Know the Flo is that you should always allow a portable space heater a break-in period. So the first thing we did with the DeLonghi KH390715CM Comfort Heater Light oil-filled radiator is set it up in our garage and let it run for 24 hours continuously, allowing it to burn off any new-heater smell.
This is definitely not something just a DeLonghi space heater needs, or something that is specific to oil-filled radiators, but a good idea with any new space heater of any type and from any company. Once broken in thus, the DeLonghi Comfort Heater Light never had even the slightest detectable odor during all of its indoor use. That indoor use included all kinds of spaces and rooms, from very small bedrooms to large family rooms, rooms with lots of sun, rooms with no windows, open areas, and more closed-up spaces.
Our results were uniformly excellent. In all but the largest and most open rooms, the DeLonghi’s Comfort Heater Light setting worked perfectly to keep the temperature nicely warm and even, with the whole room well heated – this consistently uniform and room-filling warmth is not something we would always expect from a radiant heater without a fan, and the DeLonghi KH390715CM Comfort Heater Light oil-filled radiator was delightful in this respect, as much as the heat was deep and satisfying.
With the largest or most open rooms, including basement rooms with little or no sunlight, we found that leaving the KH390715CM Comfort Heater Light oil-filled radiator on continuously on the highest heat settings worked great and that this space heater can actually effectively heat spaces a bit bigger than the literature suggests.
This full-blast approach did use a bit more electricity, while the Comfort Heater Light setting is remarkably efficient and uses noticeably less energy, but at any setting or level the KH390715CM radiator heater is very energy efficient, but the oil-filled reservoirs not only offer a more stable and reliable temperature but for longer-lasting heat with less electricity. And so we found ourselves very happy and satisfied with the DeLonghi Comfort Heater Light radiator’s heating ability all around the house and really liked the way it made our rooms, and us, feel.
We were also quite happy with the design of the DeLonghi KH390715CM Comfort Heater Light oil-filled radiator, which has a nice retro look to it, smooth, clean lines, an extremely intuitive and simple control panel, and an overall high-quality feeling to it. The nice design made the DeLonghi Comfort Heater Light really easy to move around, with a smart cord spool at the bottom for storing the electric cord, a comfortable handle, and really good wheels.
The cool-touch exterior, one of several safety features and a real comfort for people with children, pets, or absent-minded spouses, made carrying and moving the space heater even nicer. The whole time we tested the DeLonghi KH390715CM Comfort Heater Light oil-filled radiator we were impressed – it works great for a much larger range of room sizes than we would have expected, it is clearly a very well-built product, it is simple to use and maintains temperature very well, and the warmth is deep and feels wonderful.
