Since we’ve had experience with lots of oil-filled radiator heaters in the past, the first thing we did with the DeLonghi TRD40615E Dragon is to set it in our garage and run it for a full day out there, allowing the initial smell to burn off completely before using the heater in our house.

Here at Home Caprice, we have always been big fans of radiant heat – with its deep-down heating and a stable temperature it just feels better to us, and it is less drying, and more efficient (read less expensive) than many other types of heaters, but the DeLonghi oil-filled heaters, in particular, feel absolutely incredible, keeping us so deep-down warm and satisfied, but never overly hot.
While we have found that all kinds of heaters, and even some other DeLonghi oil-filled radiators, can be a little noisy when they first startup (an issue of the metal slightly expanding with heat), the DeLonghi Dragon doesn’t seem to have this issue at all and was always completely silent running.

The controls also just feel really nice – solid, smooth, and easy to press, with just the right amount of feedback so we knew they had worked and with a feeling of premium material. In fact, in general, this is one of the most striking things about the DeLonghi Dragon radiant heater, it just looks and feels so good – obviously high levels of material quality, workmanship, and design, with a feeling that the Dragon will run reliably for years and years, and an overall beautiful appearance.
