How to Clean a Dyson Humidifier – Step-by-Step
The cleaning instructions for Dyson humidifiers are quite straightforward if you check the manual. And we are listing them here for your convenience.
Step 1 – Disassembling the humidifier
The first step you have to take is to disassemble the humidifier. And for that, you have to unplug your unit and look for its tank. Remove the tank and take a dry cloth to wipe all the water from its bottom.
Step 2 – Draining water from the container
Now, unscrew the container plug. You will notice all the water going out from the water container.
Step 3 – Removing the chimney and its seal
After that, detach the tank’s chimney by loosening it. Next, twist it clockwise at a 90-degree angle, and you will be able to remove the chimney. Now, pull out the seal.
Step 4 – Pouring citric acid mix in the unit
Soak the chimney along with the rubber seal into a cleaning solution and let it sit for about 15 minutes. After that, mix 30% citric acid and 70% water to make a cleaning solution. Pour this solution into the water trough and fill it up to the level of UVC emitter.
Step 5 – Taking out all the parts from the solution
After 15 minutes, take out all the parts from the solution. Empty your trough and rinse everything thoroughly under warm water. Now take a piece of dry cloth and wipe all the water from those components. You can also air dry them.
Step 6 – Wiping the upper section of the unit
This step involves your unit’s assembly. You can pull and lift the bottom out and remove it comfortably. Just soak a soft cloth in your citric acid solution and start wiping the upper section and edges of the machine.
Step 7 – Pouring the solution into the container
Now it’s time to pour some solution into that water container. First, give it a good shake, and then replace the plug of this water container. This will keep the solution within the container while you shake it.
It will help if you keep shaking for about half a minute, and all the dirt and debris inside the container will loosen away. Now, place your tank upright and leave it for about 15 minutes.
Step 8 – Reassembling the humidifier
Finally, throw the solution from the tank and fill it with cold water. Give it a good shake for about half a minute more. Then, eventually, empty the cold water and start reassembling all the components into the unit.
Conclusion:
Through regular cleaning of a Dyson humidifier, you can extend its lifespan and get maximum performance. As a result, your unit will continue to perform for a long time to come.
